Board Policy CA-241: Occupational Health and Safety

Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and volunteers of Vitalité Health Network.
Set up and maintain a health and safety program for employees, contractors, and any other government subsidiaries working in our facilities.
Prevent occupational illnesses.
The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Vitalité Health Network (the “Network”) must ensure that all mechanisms protecting occupational health and safety are implemented and in compliance with New Brunswick’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Implementation and follow-up
The Board receives and analyzes monitoring reports submitted periodically by the senior management team. The Board ensures that the Network’s statutory responsibilities and reporting requirements are met.
The Board assigns the President and CEO the responsibility for developing and implementing all strategies and policies and procedures designed to ensure that principles and practices protecting the health and safety of employees, contractors, and any other government subsidiary present within the Network’s facilities are integrated into all aspects of the Network’s philosophy, culture, and operational planning.
Any individual hired by Vitalité Health Network, including volunteers, salaried and fee-for-service physicians.
Any company or its representative working in the place of employment and/or facilities.
Any agency or Crown corporation under Parts I, II, III, and IV.
