New appointments within the Leadership Team

To continue its efforts in strategic execution and performance culture development, the Leadership Team of Vitalité Health Network is welcoming new members.

Patrick Parent, Assistant CEO, Strategic Execution, and Senior VP, Client Programs and Professional Services

Patrick Parent is a veteran of organizational transformation. Over the past 25 years, he has worked as a senior executive and a president and CEO within various public and private sector organizations and businesses.  He now holds the positions of Assistant CEO, Strategic Execution, and Senior VP, Client Programs and Professional Services.

Mr. Parent, who has been supporting the Network in its journey towards continuous improvement for a few months already, says he is very happy to join the team. “Being part of such a passionate team is a great source of motivation for me. I will use my experience in management, strategic execution and talent development with pride and commitment to grow the Network.”

Rino Lang, Assistant Vice-President, Professional Services

Rino Lang now holds the position of Assistant Vice-President, Professional Services. Mr. Lang has over 30 years of management experience in the fields of mental health and addiction services, home care and community health services (Extra-Mural Program), and emergency services in both rural and urban hospitals.

He was Director of Emergency Services at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, then Regional Director of the Extra-Mural Program and Regional Director of Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services. He is interested in innovation involving management models that promote the continuity of care in the community.

Dr. Éric Levasseur, Regional Chief of Staff

A graduate of the Université Laval and the Université de Sherbrooke, Dr. Éric Levasseur has been a family physician in the northwest region for nearly 32 years and the Northwest Zone Chief of Staff for over five years. He now holds the position of Regional Chief of Staff.

As part of his practice, he has worked in family medicine, emergency departments, nursing homes and the mental health field. Over the years, he has held the positions of department head, medical staff president, member of the Medication Management Committee, member of the Provincial Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, and member of the Provincial Formulary Review Committee. He also sat on the Board of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick for many years. He is interested in winning health practices, in Canada and worldwide. He wants to contribute to the development of innovative and collaborative approaches to foster the provision of accessible, quality care within the Network.

Dr. Anick Pelletier, Assistant Vice-President, Medical Affairs

A graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke, Dr. Anick Pelletier now holds the position of Assistant Vice-President, Medical Affairs. A family physician in Caraquet for the past 15 years, she has held the position of Regional Medical Director (internal medicine and intensive care, pediatrics, oncology, palliative care, public health and coordinator for the Restigouche Zone) since 2018. She was also President of the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick College of Family Physicians from 2012 to 2014, a member of the Board of Directors of the College of Family Phsyicians of Canada from 2011 to 2015, department head at Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† Hospital in Caraquet, and head of the family medicine department of the Acadian Peninsula.

Her practice on the ground helps her clearly understand the issues and challenges in health care. She wants to help improve services by aligning medical practices and the strategic approach of the Network.

End of Dr. Nicole LeBlanc’s mandate as Regional Chief of Staff

Dr. Nicole LeBlanc’s mandate as Regional Chief of Staff has come to an end, and she will take on the role of Assistant Registrar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.

Dr. LeBlanc was able to put her communication skills and ability to bring people together to good use and work on the promotion of a fair culture and best practices within the departments. She also played a key role within the work group in charge of managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. LeBlanc is continuing her duties as a pediatrician for Vitalité Health Network and as medical director of the New Brunswick Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Centre of Excellence, which she founded in 2012.

“I am leaving my duties with a sense of duty accomplished, as I am leaving behind me a larger, competent, caring, committed and quality team. I am extremely grateful for the support I received from the medical staff, the Leadership Team, the members of the Board of Directors, the trustee and all the collaborators that I have had the pleasure of working with over the past six years.”

Retirement of Jacques Duclos, Senior Vice-President, Clinical Programs

After a long and distinguished career in health, Jacques Duclos, Senior Vice-President,  Clinical Programs, will retire in February 2023. While he was vice-president, he strengthened the operation of mental health, public health and primary health care services as a network.

Under his guidance, the Network adopted broad strategic directions that helped transform mental health services to foster the achievement of common objectives.

Over the past three years, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and enormous dedication in managing the COVID-19 pandemic. His work within the Leadership Team was exemplary and helped improve the governance system.

Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO, and the entire staff would like to offer him their sincerest thanks for his loyal services within the Network.
