Vitalité Health Network asks the public to reduce traffic at the Emergency Department of the Chaleur Regional Hospital over the next few days

Vitalité Health Network, Friday, January 27, 2023 – Vitalité Health Network asks the public of the Chaleur region to limit visits, except for emergency cases, to the Emergency Department of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, in Bathurst.  This temporary measure is caused by a high bed occupancy rate in the facility.

Effective:
From Friday, January 27, 2023 to Monday, January 30, 2023 inclusive

The facility's Emergency Department remains open for people who require urgent and critical care. However, the Network asks that people whose health condition is not critical make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic, contact Telecare (811) or eVisitNB.

Longer wait times
People who still come to the Emergency Department for non-urgent reasons should expect much longer than usual wait times.

The Network thanks the public for their valuable cooperation.
