Strike action by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE): Vitalité Health Network ramping up its service levels

Vitalité Health Network, Tuesday, November 9, 2021

The situation is still improving across Vitalité Health Network facilities following the return to work of several CUPE health care workers.

Over the next few days, the Network will be able to gradually increase ambulatory care, medical imaging and surgical services. Service levels could vary depending on the various facilities and specific local situations. The Network’s objective is always to provide the public with the best possible service levels based on the circumstances.

Service Levels

  • Surgical services: Increasing activities.
  • Ambulatory care services: Increasing activities.
  • Professional services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology, nutrition, respiratory therapy, etc.): Increasing activities.
  • Medical imaging services (x-rays, scans, etc.): Increasing activities.
  • Phlebotomy (bloodwork): Patients may present for their bloodwork as usual.
  • COVID-19 vaccination clinics: Offered as scheduled with or without an appointment; check the Network’s website and social media platforms often for updates.
  • COVID-19 testing clinics: Open, by appointment only.
  • Rapid-test kit pick-up sites: Some sites may be closed. Check the Network’s website and social media platforms before going to a site to pick up a kit.
  • Visitors: For the moment, visits are still prohibited in all hospitals; exceptions are possible on a case-by-case basis for designated support persons.

The Network would like to thank patients, their families, and the public for being understanding and patient. The priority remains to provide safe, quality care.
