Measures taken to reduce overcrowding at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC and Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital are still ongoing

Moncton, Friday April 16, 2021 – Vitalité Health Network’s measures to reduce overcrowding at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (UHC) and Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital are continuing until April 23, 2021.

These measures are still in place:

  • Admissions are strictly limited to cases absolutely requiring hospitalization;
  • Some surgeries may be postponed;
  • All cases currently hospitalized will be reviewed to determine whether certain patients could safely be returned home or transferred to another care setting.

For the moment, the Network is asking people to present for their hospital appointments at the scheduled date and time. In the event that certain services would be impacted, the Network will contact those directly affected to postpone their appointments to a later date.

The Network thanks the public for their understanding and regrets any inconvenience that this situation could cause.
