Improved dialysis services at the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital

Tracadie-Sheila, May 11, 2015 – The Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc. today gave Vitalité Health Network a cheque for $101,805 for improved services at the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital’s Satellite Dialysis Unit.  This money was collected through fundraising activities held during the 2015 Annual Campaign of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc.

Thanks to this donation, the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital has been able to acquire three hemodialysis devices for the unit, increasing service capacity to patients in the Acadian Peninsula.

Chief Operating Officer, Acadie-Bathurst Zone, and Vice-President of Health Information Technologies, Stéphane Legacy, is particularly proud of the improvements that have been made possible by the Foundation’s efforts. “These purchases will allow our personnel to be better equipped while delivering health care services to our dialysis patients. We are very grateful to the Foundation’s efforts and the community’s generosity for this contribution,” Mr. Legacy stated.

“This amount, added to previous amounts from various Foundation fundraising activities, represents an investment of over 3.7 million dollars towards projects estimated at near 5 million dollars for our hospital. We state with pride that our citizens very much understand our Foundation’s reason for being. Together, we have contributed towards our better health”, declared André Morais, President of the Organizing Committee for the 2015 Campaign of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc.

The cheque awarding ceremony and official unveiling took place today at the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital with a number of guests and dignitaries in attendance.
