Important changes at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Emergency Room until Monday

Vitalité Health Network, Thursday, July 6, 2023 – Vitalité Health Network informs the people of Kent of major changes at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Emergency Room (ER) during the weekend; these changes are due to a critical lack of nursing staff during the periods indicated below:

• Thursday, July 6 (during the night)
  from 7:30 p.m. to Friday, July 7 at 7:30 a.m.: ER closed
• Friday, July 7 (during the night)
  from 7:30 p.m. to Saturday, July 8 at 7:30 a.m.: ER closed
• Saturday, July 8 (during the night)
  from 7:30 p.m. to Sunday, July 9 at 7:30 a.m.: ER closed
• Sunday, July 9 (during the night)
  from 7:30 p.m. to Monday, July 10 at 7:30 a.m.: ER closed

During the closures, anyone who needs emergency medical care must go to another hospital. All ambulances will be rerouted to other hospitals. If you have a medical emergency, you must go to the ER of the nearest hospital or call 9-1-1.

The Network asks people whose health condition is not critical to make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic, call Tele-Care (811) or go online to eVisitNB.
