Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph de Saint-Quentin suffers broken heating system

Saint-Quentin, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 - A major failure of the heating system at the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph de Saint-Quentin has forced the facility to transfer patients to the Grand Falls General Hospital.

Shortly after the failure occurred, the Contingency Plan was activated due to the lack of heating and hot water in the hospital. During the evening, admitted patients were transferred by ambulance to the Grand Falls General Hospital in order to ensure their comfort and optimal care.

The Emergency Department remains open as well as ambulatory care and doctors’ offices
It should be noted that the hospital’s Emergency Department remains open as usual. Patients requiring urgent care can present themselves to see a physician.  It is expected that services offered on an outpatient basis will also be offered as usual tomorrow (Wednesday).  All doctors’ offices will also be open.
