Dr. France Desrosiers appointed to Vice-President post at Vitalité Health Network
Bathurst, May 27, 2017 – Vitalité Health Network announces the appointment of Dr. France Desrosiers as Vice President – Medical Services, Medical Training and Research.
“We welcome Dr. Desrosiers to the Network’s Leadership team. She is a recognized leader that engages her colleagues”, stated CEO Gilles Lanteigne.
“Dr. Desrosiers assumed a number of responsibilities in Medical services in the North-East as well as a regional role within Vitalité Health Network, is well versed on our strategic vision and our approach based on continuous service improvement. She will ably lead these efforts going forward”, continued Lanteigne.
Dr. Desrosiers will oversee the development of a regional strategy for Medical Affairs, Research and Medical education in accordance with the Network’s mission and will also oversee external professional standards and regulations as well as inpatient care.
Dr. France Desrosiers established her practice in the Tracadie region in 1999. She has since held several functions:
- 2000 to 2004 - Head of Emergency services and Family medicine;
- 2004 to 2008 – Department head for the Acadian Peninsula;
- 2008 to 2009 – Chief Doctor, Acadie-Bathurst Zone;
- 2009 to 2016 - Regional Chief of Staff for Vitalité Health Network.
Dr. Desrosiers holds a College degree in Health Sciences from the Cégep Maisonneuve-Rosemont and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Université de Montréal. She is a member of the New Brunswick Medical Society, the New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Canadian Physician Leadership Society. Dr. Desrosiers is also a member and Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
