COVID-19: Visitation suspended at Edmundston Regional Hospital

Edmundston, Thursday, December 10, 2020 – Vitalité Health Network informs the public that visitation at the Edmundston Regional Hospital has temporarily been suspended due to possible COVID-19 contamination within the facility. Only the following sectors are not affected by this suspension of visitation: Palliative Care (end-of-life imminent), Maternity and Pediatrics. This measure takes effect immediately and will be in effect until further notice.

“We are currently in the process of investigating the situation. This decision has been made for preventive purposes to protect the safety of patients and staff,” explained Dr. France Desrosiers, CEO of the Network.

Unless the facility contacts them beforehand, all patients with appointments today may come in for their appointments but must continue following all the measures instituted by Public Health, namely mask wearing, handwashing and physical distancing.

The Network asks the public not to come to the Emergency Department of the Edmundston Regional Hospital except in extremely urgent cases.

We regret any inconvenience that this temporary measure me cause and we thank you for your understanding.
