The Respiratory Therapy Department is made up of a team of around 30 employees who work with physicians and the care team to assess, maintain, or treat patients’ cardiorespiratory functions.

The department offers general respiratory therapy and assistance with anesthesia to the:

  • Pulmonary Function Lab;
  • Respirary Health Centre (asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases [COPD]);
  • Sleep Clinic.


The Respiratory Therapy Department also provides services at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital (SMKH), such as:

  • General care;
  • COPD Clinic;
  • Lung capacity testing (spirometry).
