Support for external researchers
The Research sector provides support and guidance to researchers and students from outside Vitalité Health Network who wish to conduct a research project in one of the Network's facilities or to recruit patients and/or employees from the Network.
To start the process, researchers must write to
Once the administrative suitability of the project has been approved, the Research sector issues a certificate of feasibility, which is required to submit the project to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approval. The project can begin once it has received ethical approval from Vitalité Health Network.
For all applications, the researcher must specify:
- where the research project will take place and which population will be studied;
- the services or sectors of Vitalité Health Network facilities affected by the project;
- collaborations outside the Network (e.g. with universities);
- needs in terms of financial, human and material resources.
External researchers will also be required to submit letters of support that state that interested parties (e.g. Network sectors involved in the project) have been informed of their involvement and the resources they must provide as part of the project (RRSO research professionals can help researchers identify the best key people for letters of support).
