About us
Research and health evaluation at the heart of Vitalité Health Network's activities
Since the designation of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre (DGLDUHC) in 2010, Vitalité Health Network (the Network) has emphasized the importance of integrating research, evaluation and evidence at all levels of the organization. This fundamental commitment responds to the Network's university mission and ensures the transformation of the Network into a learning organization where the quality of care provided is constantly improved and knowledge in the health field is continually enriched. Whether through collaborations with universities, partnerships with our affiliated research centres (including the Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick, the New Brunswick Centre for Precision Medicine and the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute), publication of studies or participation in clinical trials, the Network strives to integrate the latest scientific advances directly into its clinical practices to offer care based on the best available evidence.
To support its university mission, in 2011 the Network created the Research sector, a single entry point for all research initiatives. The Research sector brings together a team of highly qualified research professionals (including research nurses, research and evaluation consultants, clinical coordinators, etc.) who support the undertaking of all types of research initiatives in the Network's facilities according to the Good Clinical Practice established by the International Council for Harmonisation and the regulations of Health Canada.
More specifically, the mandate of the Research and Health Evaluation Sector at Vitalité Health Network is to promote the development of a research culture and the integration of research and evaluation activities at Vitalité Health Network, with a view to advancing knowledge, improving practices, services and care, and supporting decision making.
