The Specialized Supplements Program (SSP) provides costly and difficult-to-access specialized nutritional products.
To be eligible for support from the SSP, an individual must meet all the following criteria:
- Be under age 19;
- Have a complex medical condition for which nutritional products are required;
- These nutritional products must meet 80%* of the individual’s nutritional needs in order to sustain life, prevent serious disability, or prevent death.
*An exception applies to metabolic diseases. See eligibility form for more details.
