The Health Clinic was created to increase access to primary health care. Services are provided by a nurse practitioner.
The clinic is intended first for those with no access to a family physician, nurse practitioner or other specialist to manage their health problems. Those who do have access to a health care professional may be referred to the clinic by him or her.
The clinic manages various conditions including:
- High blood pressure;
- Hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol);
- Metabolic syndrome;
- Sexually transmitted infection screening;
- Colon cancer screening.
The clinic is managed by two nurse practitioners whose role is to promote and assess health, make diagnoses, and manage chronic health problems. They also serve the Diabetes Clinic.
Hours of operation: Thursday and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
