Vitalité Health Network’s response to the return to Level 1 of the winter plan to manage COVID-19

Thursday, February 10, 2022

Statement from Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO:

“For the moment, Vitalité Health Network remains at the red alert level and social visitors are still not allowed. We welcome the most vulnerable members of the population in our facilities and, while we are working hard to fully restore our services levels, the health and safety of patients and staff remain our priority.

Our hospitals have been hit hard by COVID-19 and each of our zones is facing significant human resource challenges, whether due to COVID-19-related absences or a workforce shortage that was already well underway before the pandemic.

Transition work is currently underway and discussions with the Department of Health and our various partners are continuing to ensure that our service levels can resume gradually. However, this must be done carefully. We therefore continue to draw on the expertise of our health care workers as well as our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) teams to guide our efforts to resume services.”
