Vitalité Health Network wants to reduce visits to the Emergency Department at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital

Saint-Anne-de-Kent, Monday, August 4, 2021 – The Network asks that the people of Saint-Anne-de-Kent and surrounding areas limit their visits to the Emergency Department of the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, except in cases of an emergency. This temporary measure is due to a lack of medical staff within the facility.

The facility’s Emergency Department remains available for people who need urgent care and who wish to see a doctor. However, the Network asks people whose health condition is not critical to see their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic or call the Tele-Care service (811).

Those who nevertheless come to the Emergency Department for non-urgent reasons must be patient and expect longer than usual waits.

The Network thanks the public for their valuable collaboration.
