Vitalité Health Network celebrates the Canadian Patient Safety Week

Bathurst, October 24, 2016 – Canadian Patient Safety Week is held from October 24-28, 2016. Vitalité Health Network is proud to participate in this initiative.

“Our network is committed to promoting a safety culture that is just and responsible. It builds on the opportunity to learn from and discuss openly about safety related incidents, in order to implement measures to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.”
—Gilles Lanteigne, President and CEO.

This annual national campaign is supported by the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI). It aims to educate health professionals and the public on issues related to patient safety in our care settings, as well as in the homes of our community members.

Following CPSI’s “Ask. Listen. Talk.” mantra, this year’s theme, “Questions Save Lives”, encourages us to reflect on our communication practices with patients and their families, to ensure optimal and safe care.

Information kiosks will be held in Vitalité Health Network facilities over the next few days. Patients and visitors will be able to chat with health professionals about best practices in providing safe healthcare services.

Have a good week!
