Vitalité Health Network asks to reduce Emergency Department visits at Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sunday

Vitalité Health Network, Thursday, August 3, 2023 - Vitalité Health Network invites the population of the Chaleur region to limit non-essential visits to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Emergency Department on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

This temporary measure is due to a shortage of medical staff over the weekend.

The facility’s Emergency Department remains available for people who need urgent care and who wish to see a doctor. However, the Network asks people whose health condition is not critical to see their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic or call the Tele-Care service (811).

Those who nevertheless come to the Emergency Department for non-urgent reasons must be patient and expect longer than usual waits.
