Visits temporarily suspended at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre

Moncton, February 23, 2015 – The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre informs the public that visits are suspended for the entire establishment. This situation is due to a number of patients and employees experiencing influenza symptoms. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

The management is asking for the public’s cooperation to avoid the spread of the virus.

The management also advises there are special provisions concerning patient visits for the Obstetrics Unit, the Pediatrics Unit, the Intensive Care Unit as well as Palliative services. Family members of these patients may contact the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre at 506-862-4000 for further details.

As a precaution, we ask visitors to these units:

  • To wash their hands with soap and water or use the antiseptic solution available upon entry at the hospital and upon leaving the patient’s room;
  • To proceed home immediately after the visit;
  • Avoid visiting patients if they are not feeling well.

The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
