Visits temporarily suspended at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre

Moncton, June 25, 2014 – The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre informs the public that visits are suspended at the 3E Unit (Geriatrics). This situation is due to a number of patients and employees experiencing gastroenteritis symptoms. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

The management is asking for the public’s cooperation to avoid the spread of the virus.

As a precaution, citizens visiting patients in other units are asked to do the following:

  • Thoroughly wash their hands with soap and water or rubbing hands together with an alcohol-based gel for at least 15 seconds, this upon entering the hospital and upon leaving the patient’s room;
  • Proceed directly to their home upon leaving the hospital;
  • Avoid visiting patients if they are not feeling well.

The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
