Temporary interruption in some services at Addiction Services in Tracadie

Tracadie-Sheila, July 15, 2016 – Vitalité Health Network must temporarily interrupt admitting services for detoxification at Addiction Services in Tracadie.

According to Johanne Chiasson, Manager, this interruption will be effective from Sunday, July 17 to Saturday, July 30, 2016 (until 8:00 a.m.). “This is necessary because of a significant nursing staff shortage at the Tracadie point of service,” she said. “I wish to reassure the public that there will still be some staff on site to ensure continuity of care. Services provided on an ambulatory care basis will not be affected by this interruption.”

Vitalité Health Network wishes to stress that every possible effort was made to avoid this situation and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Patients from the Acadie-Bathurst Zone who will need to be admitted for detoxification services will be referred to another point of service in Vitalité Health Network, namely to Campbellton or Edmundston.

Addiction Services in Tracadie has nine beds and offers services to people who are directly or indirectly affected (spouses, parents, friends) by addiction to alcohol, drugs, medication, smoking, and/or gambling. A range of specialized services are available on an ambulatory care basis and in-house.
