Patient visits mostly reinstated at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre

Moncton, February 26, 2015 – The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre informs the public that visits are mostly reinstated at the hospital facility. However, the suspension of visits still applies for the 3A Unit – Geriatric Care. This situation is due to a number of patients on the unit experiencing influenza symptoms. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

The management is asking for the public’s cooperation to avoid the spread of the virus.

As a precaution, we ask visitors:

  • to wash their hands with soap and water or use the antiseptic solution available upon entry at the hospital, upon leaving the patient’s room and the hospital;
  • to proceed home immediately after the visit;
  • to avoid visiting patients if they are not feeling well.

The management of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the population for its’ cooperation.
