The Network asks to reduce Emergency Department visits at Campbellton Regional Hospital

Campbellton, Saturday, October 9, 2021 - Vitalité Health Network asks that the public limit visits to the Emergency department of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, except in cases of an emergency. The reason for this request is that the facility's emergency department must operate with a reduced number of physicians until Tuesday morning.

The Emergency department will remain available for people who need urgent care and who wish to see a doctor. However, the Network asks that people whose health condition is not critical see their family doctor, see their community pharmacist, or call Tele-Care (811).

People who still come to the emergency department for non-urgent reasons should expect a longer than usual wait time.

Due to the increase in cases of COVID-19, the Network reminds everyone that the Campbellton Regional Hospital is on red alert and that visits are temporarily prohibited.
