Network asks people of the Restigouche and Edmundston to reduce demand for emergency services

Bathurst, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 – The Network asks the people of the Restigouche and Edmundston to only visit the Emergency Department of the Campbellton Regional Hospital and Edmundston Regional Hospital in urgent situations.  This measure is necessary to reduce traffic and prioritize available resources to COVID-19 patients.

The facilities’ Emergency Department remains available for people who need urgent care and who wish to see a doctor. However, the Network asks people whose health condition is not critical to see their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic or call the Tele-Care service (811).

Those who nevertheless come to these emergency departments for non-urgent reasons must be patient and expect longer than usual waits.

The Network thanks the public for their valuable collaboration during this difficult period.
