The Network announces the retirement of its President and CEO

Bathurst, Wednesday, April 22, 2020 – The Chairperson of Vitalité Health Network's Board of Directors announced today that Gilles Lanteigne will be leaving his position of President and Chief Executive Officer on October 20, 2020, to retire.

According to Michelyne Paulin, Mr. Lanteigne decided not to seek another term at the end of his contract, which is coming to an end on August 10, 2020. “However, he will remain in office until October 2020 to give a six-month period to allow for the recruitment and appointment of a new President and CEO,” she stated.

Appointed by the Minister of Health, Mr. Lanteigne began his duties as President and CEO of the Network on August 10, 2015. During his term, he has namely strengthened the operation of the organization as a network and placed the quality of care and services at the centre of decisions. Under his management, the Network adopted broad strategic directions that enabled the mobilization of health system stakeholders toward the achievement of common objectives.

Over the past five years, Mr. Lanteigne has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a positive outlook and tremendous devotion to the Network. “His work with the Board of Directors has been exemplary and allowed us to improve our governance system. I know that I am not the only one who is grateful to him, and I would like to thank him for his entire contribution, she added.”

“After a fruitful career of over forty-five years in the health care field, I wish him a great, long and rewarding retirement,” Ms. Paulin concluded.
