National Francophone Immigration Week: Let’s Celebrate the Diversity Within Vitalité Health Network

(Message from Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of Vitalité Health Network)

Over the years, the Network has been enriched by health care workers from around the world who have chosen to make New Brunswick their home.

More recently, against the backdrop of a health system struggling to find the workers it needs, we have intensified our international recruitment efforts.

During National Francophone Immigration Week, from November 6 to 12, 2022, I invite you to celebrate the essential contribution that immigrants are making to the Network and to our communities.

Celebrated this year under the theme Our Transitions and Our Future, this week reminds us not only how important each individual’s unique character is – with the traditions and lived experience that they bring – but also how sharing these traditions and lived experiences brings us closer together. Such sharing enriches us and allows us to collectively turn to the future.

I wish to thank health care workers who have immigrated here and chosen to pursue a career with the Network. Your expertise and determination to improve the health system are invaluable.

I also salute our partners along with the municipalities, school districts and newcomer welcome centres within our region and the role they play in helping immigrant families integrate into our communities. With society in its entirety benefiting from the contribution that immigrant families make, let’s all commit to welcoming them into our workplace and our communities. Let’s be open and inclusive; let’s celebrate diversity!
