Improved services at the Chaleur Regional Hospital thanks to the Foundation

Bathurst, September 30, 2014 – The Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation presented a cheque to Vitalité Health Network in the amount of $301,841. The money was collected through various fundraising activities held as part of the 2014 annual campaign of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation. With the Foundation’s donation, Vitalité Health Network was able to purchase equipment for the hospital’s Surgical Suite, the Intensive Care Unit and for the Mother-Child Program.

“We are very grateful for the generous efforts put forth by the Foundation and its many volunteers. Once again, residents of the Chaleur region, Acadian Peninsula, and surrounding areas proudly showed us their commitment to improve the quality of health care services,” stated Stéphane Legacy, Chief of Operations for the Acadie-Bathurst Zone.

The 2014 annual campaign’s overall fundraising target had been set at $300,000. The final result announced at the unveiling is $301,841. “I take this opportunity to publicly thank the many people who contributed to the success of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation’s 2014 campaign. Everyone’s support ensured the campaign reached its’ objective once again”, stated Jennifer Henry, President of the 2014 Fundraising Campaign Organizing Committee.

The organizers of the Friends of Healthcare Bingo also presented a $100,000 cheque. This amount will be shared by the hospital foundations in Northern New Brunswick. “On behalf of the Foundations and our healthcare professionals, I share our appreciation to the bingo’s organizers and supporters as well as Rogers Television for their support. In the past few years, they have invested over $200,000 towards our Foundations in order to improve the quality of healthcare services offered to our population”, stated Jean Guy Robichaud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation.

The cheque presentation and official unveiling took place today at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in the presence of several guests and dignitaries.
