COVID-19: Visits suspended to the Surgery Two Unit at the Edmundston Regional Hospital

Edmundston, Sunday, March 7, 2021 – Vitalité Health Network informs the public that visitation to the Surgery Two Unit at the Edmundston Regional Hospital has temporarily been suspended due to positive COVID-19 detected on three health car workers of this unit.

This measure takes effect immediately and will be in effect until further notice.

“We are currently in the process of investigating the situation. This decision has been made for preventive purposes to protect the safety of patients and staff,” explained Stéphane Legacy, Vice-President of Outpatient and Professional Services of the Network.

The Network would like to underline that the facility’s emergency department is open for people who require emergency care and want to see a doctor. However, we ask that people whose health condition does not require urgent care make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, contact their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic or call Tele-Care (811).
