Care provided at the Restigouche Hospital Centre

Vitalité Health Network recognizes that the trust of many people in the care provided at the Restigouche Hospital Centre (RHC) and our organization was severely shaken following the release of the Ombud’s report, which reveals examples of inappropriate care that does not reflect our mission and values in any way.

We know that the current situation at the RHC affects several patients and their families. To all those who are affected directly or indirectly by this sad situation, which we deeply regret, please accept our most sincere apologies.

Management and the teams in place had already identified, before the Ombud’s involvement, the serious deficiencies that prevailed in the quality of services. A profound change of culture and approach must be made regarding RHC patients. Everyone is entitled to respect and a life plan that allow for their full development.

All clinical and administrative teams are working relentlessly to implement the changes necessary to ensure quality care. Our patients are our main concern and our utmost priority. We will not let them down.
