Campbellton Regional Hospital: visits prohibited, non-urgents services cancelled and ER closed

REVISED

Campbellton, Saturday, June 13, 2020 – Vitalité Health Network announces that visits are completely prohibited at the Campbellton Regional Hospital and that all non-emergency services offered by the facility are cancelled until further notice.

Patient visits and non-emergency services
Because of the increased risk of contagion to the new coronavirus, the Network is announcing precautionary measures to ensure the safety of staff and patients at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Visits are completely prohibited without exception.  Non-emergency or elective health care and services are suspended until further notice.  "The Network has no choice but to take these measures immediately given the evolution of the spread of COVID-19 in Region 5," said Gilles Lanteigne, President and CEO of the Network.

Emergency Service is closed
The Emergency Service of the Campbellton Regional Hospital will close at 8 p.m. today until further notice.

Measures in Place
To ensure everyone’s safety, the Network is implementing a series of strict infection prevention and control measures.  Disinfection activities are increased, the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) is reinforced, and a systematic screening plan for employees and certain patients is in place.

The Network thanks the people of the Restigouche area for their patience and understanding during this difficult period.
