Blood pressure screening clinics held in the Restigouche on World Hypertension Day

Campbellton, May 15, 2017 – To raise awareness of hypertension, blood pressure screening clinics held in conjunction with World Hypertension Day will take place in the Restigouche on Wednesday, May 17.

A total of 13 clinics, i.e. two more than last year, will be held in all Restigouche communities. “More and more people are suffering from hypertension, with many being unaware they even have this condition,” explained Julie Savoie, RN, who is coordinating the initiative. “According to the statistics on our community, 39.6% of Restigouche residents are affected. Since hypertension increases the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and even dementia, it’s important to make people more aware,” Ms. Savoie added.

The clinics will take place at the times and locations indicated below. People can have their blood pressure checked free of charge.
