4th Cancer Symposium in Moncton

Moncton, May 16, 2017 – The Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre and Dalhousie University are this year’s co-hosts of the 4th Cancer Symposium in Moncton taking place on Friday, May 19, 2017.

Let’s talk about prostate cancer

Participants will hear the latest on prostate cancer prevention from Dr. Rob Rutledge, Radiation Oncologist and Associate Professor at Dalhousie University, as well as on prostate cancer screening from Dr. Nicholas Power, Uro-Oncologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Western Ontario. Local specialists from the Dr. Léon-Richard Oncology Centre as well as The Moncton Hospital will also be part of the panel of experts who will provide insight into various treatment options and the management of treatment-related complications.

The participants gathered at Moncton’s Delta Beauséjour will address important issues pertaining to prostate cancer. “We are pleased to welcome specialists and general practitioners, nurses, radiation therapists, pharmacists, and other health professionals who are directly involved in the care and treatment of prostate cancer patients,” said Dr. Linda LeBlanc, Radiation Oncologist at the Dr. Léon-Richard Oncology Centre and co-organizer of the symposium.

“This symposium serves as a meeting place and an opportunity for these health professionals to update their knowledge of the multidisciplinary approaches now being used in the fight against prostate cancer. They can also benefit from continued partnerships to ensure improvement in their specific fields of expertise,” Dr. LeBlanc added.

The symposium will be presented in French and in English via simultaneous interpretation.
