General Info

The Campbellton Regional Hospital is a 163-bed regional general care facility providing all primary and secondary care services to the residents of Vitalité Health Network’s Restigouche Zone.

Visiting hours

Hours vary on certain units.


  • During the week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Weekends and holidays, as for general visiting hours


  • Spouse and children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Other visitors as for general visiting hours


  • Parents or substitute 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Other visitors as for general visiting hours

Palliative care

  • Immediate family/loved ones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Other visitors as for general visiting hours

The care plan prepared in collaboration with the care team, patient and family will mention participation in patient care by family members, if, where and when such participation is required.

Based on the needs of the patient, a family member may be at the bedside outside of general visiting hours.

Visits to a patient may be limited or cancelled if the patient’s condition demands it or if the patient does not want visitors.

The Network reserves the right to limit visits to a unit or facility in exceptional circumstances (i.e.: to limit an outbreak of infectious disease). The public will be informed if this occurs.

  • 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Two visitors at a time
  • Children under 12 years of age (special authorization) accompanied by an adult

10 minutes per hour
Family members and significant others only


Spouse and children: 24/7
Other visitors: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m

Palliative Care

Immediate family or significant others: 24/7

The Campbellton Regional Hospital opened its doors in 1991 following the amalgamation of the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu.

Since it opened, the hospital has seen many changes in the health care system and enormous technological progress.

The Campbellton Regional Hospital is proud of the standards and skills it maintains, how it has adapted to technological changes, and its ability to meet the challenge of a constantly changing health care environment.
