Saint-Quentin, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - Vitalité Health Network wishes to take stock of the recent events that took place at the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph in Saint-Quentin. According to reports, a citizen went to the Emergency Department with her child and could not receive X-ray and blood collection services.

X-ray services are normally available at all times in Saint-Quentin. Unfortunately, a major breakdown of the X-ray equipment temporarily disrupted the services offered. This is a unique and extremely rare situation that had never occurred in this community...

According to Vitalité Health Network, this is an exceptional case. "X-ray services are normally available at all times in Saint-Quentin. Unfortunately, a major breakdown of the X-ray equipment temporarily disrupted the services offered. This is a unique and extremely rare situation that had never occurred in this community. Once the defective part was replaced, the equipment was once again fully operational," said Gilles Lanteigne, President and CEO of Vitalité Health Network.

When required, blood collection can be performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at this facility. A nurse is always present, even in the evening.

Mr. Lanteigne also wishes to reassure the population of Restigouche West that blood collection services are always available at all times. "When required, blood collection can be performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at this facility. A nurse is always present, even in the evening," he added. Depending on the time and nature of the request, analyses (blood tests) are done on site or are sent out to get the results within a required timeframe.

Vitalité Health Network sincerely apologizes to the mother and the Restigouche population for any inconvenience this event may have caused.
