Jessie Caron-Arseneault, Nurse Manager of the Obstetrics-Gynecology Unit, says this is excellent news for health care and expecting mothers in the Restigouche region. “We are very optimistic about the implementation of this program. It will allow us to better prepare our staff to provide safe health care services to patients and their baby," said Caron-Arseneault. "We note our medical and nursing staff's commitment and support these measures aimed at improving health care services in our facility."

The support of medical staff is essential to the successful implementation of this new program.  Dr. Grant Oyeye, gynecologist-obstetrician, spoke at the launch about the importance of this type of initiative for quality of care.  “Together as a team we are committed to the MOREOB Program to achieve the set goals” said Dr. Oyeye.

The MOREOB program has been available in Canada and the United States for over ten years. This three-year training program is being offered to the interprofessional core team in the Obstetrics Department to implement safe care procedures tailored to the needs and context of the unit.
