Memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the Université de Moncton and Vitalité Health Network

Moncton, October 19, 2017 – (Université de Moncton) Today, Vitalité Health Network and the Université de Moncton signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the training of health professionals. The MOU includes Vitalité Health Network’s four zones, namely Acadie-Bathurst, Beauséjour, Northwest and Restigouche.

Through this agreement, the Network and the Université de Moncton are committed to collaborating on various issues related to education and health research. This affiliation will ultimately improve the quality of health services available to the province’s Francophone population. The agreement will build on and expand the longstanding history of collaboration between the Network and the University, particularly through the courses offered to students at the Université de Moncton and through the pooling of expertise to conduct various health research projects.

“The Université de Moncton’s researchers will bring their skills together to advance health research in New Brunswick, which is one of the development pillars of our institutional research strategy,” said Raymond Théberge, President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton. “The partnership in which we are embarking today can only be beneficial for all of our province’s citizens as well as for Vitalité Health Network’s medical team and our university community. We are proud to play an active role in this research and training project.”

Vitalité Health Network’s President and CEO Gilles Lanteigne underlined that the Network sees itself first and foremost as a Francophone leader in health care in Atlantic Canada. “Our mission is to excel in improving people’s health and we are extremely proud to be able to offer health care services to the residents of New Brunswick in both official languages. Through this agreement, we will become a better leader in training and research for all of our communities.”
